DETAILS: Our annual picnic will be held on the shores of Long Island Sound at scenic Short Beach in Stratford, CT.
The caterer is the famous Pilgrim B-B-Q of Ansonia, CT. The menu to date consists of hamburgers; hot dogs; chicken cutlets, liver, bacon, and onions; all condiments; baked beans; potato salad; sausage and peppers; gelatin salad; chips and dips; SUBVETS cake; coffee....
Additional side dishes are welcome. (Please let Mike DeLeo and/or Roy Wilkes know what you would like to bring.)
COST: Approximately $20 per person. Children age 10 and under are free. The price may decrease slightly; the exact price depends on the final head count. (NOTE-The price includes the location, the caterer, parking at Short Beach, and the use of all the facilities at Short Beach.)
WHAT TO BRING: Please bring your own beverages and coolers. (We will provide a few cases of bottled water.) Please also bring your lawn/beach chairs. There are four picnic tables and benches in the pavilion, but as Long Island Sound is only 30 yards away, you may wish to enjoy the sea breezes!
IMPORTANT DATES: We would like a preliminary head count by our June meeting (June 21.) The final deadline and due date for monies will be July 19 (the date of our July meeting.)
This is our first year using an outside venue and an outside caterer. Everyone can relax and enjoy the day and the location! Swimming is available on the sandy beach with lifeguard protection. Short Beach has a large playground area for children, a long boardwalk along the Sound, fishing, golf courses, tennis and volleyball courts, and beautiful ocean breezes!
